St Edward's - A caring Christian Community where children achieve their potential, are confident in themselves and their abilities and are set on a positive path for life.

At St Edward's, we believe that the development of speaking and listening skills is vital if we are to fulfil our vision of setting children 'on a positive path for life'.

We have made Oracy a key focus because of three key benefits:

1- Good Communication - When someone says something well, it gets them respect and people take them seriously.

2- Talking helps learning - exploratory talk helps children to develop ideas and build meaning. Saying ideas out loud helps to commit knowledge to long-term memory.

3 - Having a Voice - being able to speak confidently prepares children to participate in a democratic society.
